Best Practice for the Environment: 700 windows replaced

The energetic refurbishment of a Secondary School in Jessen is regarded as an example of environmental learning. Two buildings dating from 1978 will be fitted with modern thermal insulation for the facades and false ceilings to the roof by 2019. In addition, new PVC windows are now providing an additional improvement in the energy balance. In this publicly funded renovation project, approximately 700 old PVC windows from 1995 to 1998 have been dismantled for recycling and later re-use.

The project is part of the „Best Practice for the Environment“ campaign. In Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia, exemplary and sustainable building projects were identified and documented where PVC building products are recycled. The campaign was initiated by Rewindo, AgPR and AGPU and is actively supported by several regional and national associations and companies.
